Why a phone restriction may not cover your browser, tablet or television

Reviewed:

A restriction applies to the route its mechanism actually controls. An app timer, browser filter and account setting are different mechanisms. List the devices, browsers and apps you use before assuming that restricting one route restricts the service everywhere. unScroll browser filters apply inside unScroll, not across your whole social account.

Make a route map

For one service, list the original phone app, unScroll browser, another browser and any other device. Beside each, note the restriction you expect to apply. A missing entry is a route you have not checked, not proof that it is protected.

Also identify settings that belong to a service account and settings that belong to one device or tool. Do not infer synchronization merely because the same account is signed in.

Check the map with ordinary actions

  1. Open the service through each route you actually use.
  2. Perform the same relevant action, such as searching for a regular video or opening the short-video feed.
  3. Record what remains available on that route.
  4. Repeat a check after closing and reopening the tool if the restriction needs that lifecycle.
  5. Choose a separate rule or a different routine for uncovered routes; do not assume one filter silently covers them.

Current unScroll coverage

unScroll’s section filters and browsing limits apply inside its browser. Optional Android native protection is separate and attempts to control selected original apps or sections. The current release has no combined time budget across all chosen installed apps.

There is no downloadable iPhone version. A phone setup also does not establish protection on a television or desktop. Use the route map to distinguish current coverage from desired coverage.
